    This class was tough.

    Course Overview:

His teaching style is very different that what we are used to at Illinois State and the class is not interesting. Usually professors will have notes on the power point and expand on them but Mr. Day just put up pictures and talks about them, so you really have to pay attention to his every word.

    Course highlights:

I learned how to identify different rocks, how to categorize them and where they come from. We learned the difference between sedimentary, metamorphic, and igneous rocks.

    Hours per week:

    6-8 hours

    Advice for students:

You need to make sure you go to every class and pay attention, talk to your TA if you need help and go to University College for tutoring.

    This class was tough.

    Course Overview:

I would recommend it for someone who wants a challenge. If you want to be able to improve yourself as a student this is the class to take. If you want an easy A, I don't recommend.

    Course highlights:

I learned a lot about the formation of the earth and why elements on the earth are the way they are. They are very interesting topics because theses items are relevant to everyone, anyone can relate.

    Hours per week:

    3-5 hours

    Advice for students:

Pay attention in class and go to his office hours. He will sit down and explain to you in detailed step by step of what you are having trouble understanding.

Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

well first of all you don't need to study as much as you would need to in the other science gen-ed. And the teacher is really good and I had a good TA for lab.

    Course highlights:

well I learned all the different ways that rocks are made which is pretty enlightening.

    Hours per week:

    3-5 hours

    Advice for students:

make sure you still study and go to class because he explains the slides well when some of the concepts could be hard to understand from a picture or definition,
