    This class was tough.

    Course Overview:

I would recommend it for someone who wants a challenge. If you want to be able to improve yourself as a student this is the class to take. If you want an easy A, I don't recommend.

    Course highlights:

I learned a lot about the formation of the earth and why elements on the earth are the way they are. They are very interesting topics because theses items are relevant to everyone, anyone can relate.

    Hours per week:

    3-5 hours

    Advice for students:

Pay attention in class and go to his office hours. He will sit down and explain to you in detailed step by step of what you are having trouble understanding.

Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

well first of all you don't need to study as much as you would need to in the other science gen-ed. And the teacher is really good and I had a good TA for lab.

    Course highlights:

well I learned all the different ways that rocks are made which is pretty enlightening.

    Hours per week:

    3-5 hours

    Advice for students:

make sure you still study and go to class because he explains the slides well when some of the concepts could be hard to understand from a picture or definition,

Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

Bill Shields is an amazing instructor at Illinois State University. He is charismatic and cares about each and every student in his class. He is knowledgeable about his subject and is able to elaborate on the topics enough for everyone to understand. The labs prepare you for future classes in Geology and it is a great course for any major.

    Course highlights:

My highlights were the lectures, since Bill Shields was funny and smart. He could teach the topic in new and exciting ways for everyone, and I was able to learn things from Ice Age periods to the different kinds of rocks.

    Hours per week:

    3-5 hours

    Advice for students:

Study the online note study guide and go to the lectures. You'll enjoy the lectures and have fun and learn along the way.
