Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

This class, though it is required, does little to truly further your education. It can be interesting to learn about the Bible, even if you aren't religious, but the set up of the class can make it hard to gain any real knowledge that is applicable outside of the classroom.

    Course highlights:

I gained an understanding of the Bible that I never had in the past. I wasn't raised religious so I got to learn about all of the books in the Bible, and the major themes that show themselves throughout all of it. I also learned about how the history of the Bible and the journey the text took before being translated into English. I also learned about some of the contradictions, or aspects of life the Bible can't explain.

    Hours per week:

    3-5 hours

    Advice for students:

Don't try and read all of the assigned books word for word, they assign a lot each night. Instead skim the books and get a summary, or watch videos or read summaries of the books. You'll gain the info you need to participate in class discussions and assignments, but won't waste hours reading all of it. Also make sure you go into the course with an open mind and try and actively participate. It will make the class go quicker.

Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

This class involves a detailed background of the Biblical text while also remaining accessible to anyone unfamiliar with the Bible.

    Course highlights:

I learned to use certain research habits and patterns in order to get at the root purpose of a selected text in the Bible. I also attained quite a bit of new background information I had never heard prior.

    Hours per week:

    0-2 hours

    Advice for students:

Simply keep up with the work and use the professor as a resource.
