    This class was tough.

    Course Overview:

This course was highly informative and thorough. I felt unprepared to be taking this course.

    Course highlights:

I gained a basic understanding of calculus.

    Hours per week:

    9-11 hours

    Advice for students:

My advice is to show up to class... every class... every day. I skipped a few classes because I was used to the usual high school classes where I could just get the notes from someone. This does not work with a college course and you will miss too much valuable information if you skip class. Another piece of advice I would give is to always go to office hours. This may seem pointless or intimidating, especially if you are shy, but I promise those hours can be the difference between an A or a B.

    This class was tough.

    Course Overview:

Ronald Layne is by far the best college math instructor I have ever had. His enthusiasm and humor made math class a joy to be a part of. If you had any questions he was always willing to walk through with you step by step ensuring that you understood the concepts.

    Course highlights:

The highlight was being in his class. He made it interesting. Ron simply laid out concepts and successfully explained formulas to the students' benefit.

    Hours per week:

    9-11 hours

    Advice for students:

Be ready to dive into precal by preparing to study a lot. You will succeed if you are willing to do the work. Enjoy Ron's class!

    This class was tough.

    Course Overview:

It was a thorough class that taught me a lot about statistics. The work is by no means easy but it is a nice class to prepare you if you are going to be using statistics more.

    Course highlights:

You learned all the basics of statistics. You learned how to present all your data and calculations through Excel. A prior knowledge of Excel is certainly necessary, but you will learn a lot more through the course.

    Hours per week:

    6-8 hours

    Advice for students:

Discuss with the teacher when you are struggling. Work on labs and take home tests together. Never just type in a value in Excel, instead, always make sure that you use the correct equations.
