Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

The professor is incredible! I took this class two years ago while I was still in highschool and I do not remember what the material was but I do remember that I grew as a writer from this class. I have used several of my essays from this class towards scholarship applications with the guidance of this professor.

    Course highlights:

I became a far more confident writer in this class. I learned to write honestly and openly. We learned techniques such as "blind writing" in which the writer sets a time limit and writes without stops to make any corrections or edits. Once time is up the writer then can go back and edit the pages and expand ideas. The professor told us that the hardest part of writing is getting ideas from pen to paper, and once you get over that hurdle you can nail any topic.

    Hours per week:

    6-8 hours

    Advice for students:

Participation in class was the most helpful resource as well as frequently asking questions. It is also incredibly important to meet deadlines.

Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

I would definitely recommend this course because I learned a lot about the different styles of writing. The information and lessons were easy to follow and my teacher helped me with any questions I had.

    Course highlights:

The main highlights of the course were the writer's audience, purpose, and tone. We also discussed syntax, diction, and overall flow of a paper and the importance of these qualities in a good essay. We discussed a little about grammar, but we mostly discussed and wrote short essays.

    Hours per week:

    3-5 hours

    Advice for students:

If you are considering taking this course, please do! It is a very helpful entry to an English class and it will also help you when you need to write essays or papers for other classes.
