    This class was tough.

    Course Overview:

The professor is very knowledgeable about statistics and gives really great examples related to biology and the field. He does tend to get off topic occasionally but ultimately wants everyone to succeed in his class.

    Course highlights:

This course was an awesome intro to statistics as I wasn't previously exposed to it. Not only was the class very interesting it also set me up for doing basic evaluations of statistics for my other classes. The professor is great about answering questions and really goes into detail if you don't understand something.

    Hours per week:

    3-5 hours

    Advice for students:

A must do is to keep up with the homework, go to class and keep up with the lecture notes. This is the only way to assure success in this course. If additional help is needed go to office hours and the oral reviews with the learning assistants, it's super helpful and there's no reason why you should't do well in the class if you ask for extra help.

Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

Very Interesting Class, always kept my attention with a very animated professor. Come to class early, sit in front and be prepared with your scheduled readings and you will easily understand his teaching! Always read with a pencil in hand, and actively engage the ideas presented in the book and you will be prepared.

    Course highlights:

It may not require as much math as physics or astronomy, but biological systems are extremely complex and describing them requires a highly specialized vocabulary. Study your words nightly Write terms and concepts on the front of 3 x 5 cards and definitions and descriptions on the back. Use these to test yourself. Better yet, get together with a friend and test each other. I learned all of the vocab. words using in this manner

    Hours per week:

    6-8 hours

    Advice for students:

Study what you learned nightly for about 20 minutes, add an additional 15 minutes for vocab and you will do well
