Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

This course teaches students why art was made the way it was in different eras. Professor Ho explores Western art in a new inviting way that makes even a student with no interest in art intrigued. I thoroughly enjoyed listening to lectures because they were easy to understand and the environment in the class was enjoyable.

    Course highlights:

Professor Ho takes you on a journey through time to explain history that was occurring during the times in which these artists were living. She reveals feelings and thoughts the artist had while painting and why each painting was made. specific techniques were used during different eras which lead to new styles such as realism and cubism.

    Hours per week:

    3-5 hours

    Advice for students:

Make flash cards of the paintings and definitely pay attention to the lectures.

Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

I took this course online. The information was interesting, quizzes were straight forward.

    Course highlights:

I loved learning about the Rococo artistic era. Also, learning the differences and similarities of Leonardo, Raphael, and Michelangelo.

    Hours per week:

    3-5 hours

    Advice for students:

Don't just study the PDFs, all of her quizzes and exams go off of the textbook, web-links, videos, etc, too.

    Pretty easy, overall.

    Course Overview:

This course was able to provide me with knowledge about Art History that I can relate with everyday things such as architecture, artwork, and ceramics.

    Course highlights:

The highlights of the course would be taking a trip to an art museum and writing a paper about what I learned from the art. I decided to do my paper on relief artwork from the Mesopotamian era.

    Hours per week:

    0-2 hours

    Advice for students:

It is important to make sure that you attend most classes because Prof. Butler does slide shoes that show all of the artwork but he gives lectures on it too. He does not put his class notes online, just the slides that show the artwork and some commentary.
