    This class was tough.

    Course Overview:

it was a fun course, very informative. The lecture was entertaining with this professor. Make sure that you come to class so that you get full participation credit, as this make or break the grade. The exams are not too bad as well

    Course highlights:

i learned about DNA replication, transcription, translation, hereditiy, how to pass genes, you learn a ton about flies, and test crossing

    Hours per week:

    6-8 hours

    Advice for students:

you should definitely take the time to study for this and to do the test problems from the book. there is no better way to prepare for the lecture than this.

Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

This course was one of my favorite biology courses I have taken. The professor, who also works in the field, is an expert in the topic and was extremely passionate. His teaching style was easy to understand and he was helpful to students who needed help.

    Course highlights:

The course goes in depth in the subject of Genetics discussing the building blocks of the subject such as cell types and cell reproduction as well as heredity and probability. The course delves into genetic testing and mapping as well as gene cloning. The lab explores all of the topics studied in lecture in a way that increases your understanding. The semester long gene mapping experiment involving mating fruit flies was personally one of the most terrifying but interesting experiences I have had in a course.

    Hours per week:

    6-8 hours

    Advice for students:

Take very good notes and make sure to attend lecture. Complete the recommended homework problems from the textbook, even though they are not graded, because it would really help in your understanding. Visit the professor or TA if you have questions. Connect with other students in the class and study together.
