Not too easy. Not too difficult.
Throughout this class, we explored the key roles that training and development play within organizations. Many organizations spend a great deal of time and money on training programs that do not directly support organizational goals and objectives. It is absolutely necessary that all training programs provided by organizations (both in-house and outside) in some way provide employees with knowledge and/or skills that are important to achieving desired organizational outcomes. If managed properly, training programs can help an organization thrive. If not managed properly, training programs can become a burden on the organization. The goals was to strategically link training and learning to the strategic business goals of the organization.
During this course the professor covered different elements of the training process. We had to conduct a needs assessment, analyze the data, create a training intervention to address the gaps found, and determine the impact on the organization based upon the return on investment (ROI). This is an excellent way to get hands-on experience with the training system in an organization!
