    This class was tough.

    Course Overview:

This course will test you. Dr. Priest will give you some of the most difficult questions he can, force you to think outside of memorization, and set high expectations. That said, he is a very talented professor for many students. Although his methods may be frustrating at times, when you get through his classes you would have an excellent understanding of the material. HIs course is difficult, but he knows how to bring out the best in his students by the end of three terms of organic chemistry.

    Course highlights:

The course covered a wide range of topics in organic chemistry over the three course sequence. The material covered was more than sufficient for the 3rd term class to have an average percentile rank in the 80s-90s on the American Chemical Society standardized organic chemistry exam.

    Hours per week:

    6-8 hours

    Advice for students:

Read the book closely and do as many problems from it as you can. Look up additional problems online and practice everything. It is unlikely that he will give you a problem matching what you practiced exactly on an exam, but everything he gives you can be solved if you think critically using the concepts he has covered and you have practiced through the book problems.

    This class was tough.

    Course Overview:

He's much better than Trzpek in terms of difficulty. Teaches well with good foundation.

    Course highlights:

He tells very entertaining stories that he tests for as part of participation during midterms. Learned Orgo 1 basics through his class. Amazing stuff and he even drops a midterm.

    Hours per week:

    12+ hours

    Advice for students:

Study every day. Do all the textbook problems and learn the rxn mechanisms well.

    This class was tough.

    Course Overview:

This course is definitely very rigorous and challenging. It tests students' ability to comprehend complex spatial molecules. That being said, it is extremely challenging but also very rewarding. I personally found the course to be exciting and genuinely fun.

    Course highlights:

I learned a lot about chemistry and reactions but also about the spectroscopic techniques associated with identifying and analyzing compounds.

    Hours per week:

    9-11 hours

    Advice for students:

I would tell students to avoid procrastination and to stay on top of work with a schedule that focuses a lot of work spread out over a long period of time.
