Not too easy. Not too difficult.
Because marketing isn't just about communication from buyer to seller. Marketing is the process of planning, executing, production, pricing, promotion and distribution of goods, ideas & services in order to satisfy consumer needs and wants as well as to achieve organizational goals. So before you apply marketing management in your work, you can and should apply it on yourself too.
I learned that the four things every marketing student should remember are opportunity identification which means it is the part where you decide what are you going to offer in the community, then market segmentation which is the part where you divide your choices of buyers, then target marketing which works effectively when you work on a focused group like for example you'll make something that the girls and only girls would probably buy. Then positioning, how are you going to sell it? Are you going to open up a branch? Or you're gonna sell it online or with resellers, things like that. And lastly, the marketing mix which is the 4P's or 4 elements in marketing; Price, Product, Promotion & Place.

Advice for students:
You just have to love what you do and when you do that everything will fall exactly where you need them to be. But love isn't enough, do study, study, and study and work hard and you'll be good.
