    This class was tough.

    Course Overview:

I would recommend this course with this specific teacher because in my experience, I had no incentive to truly learn through this english course. However, Professor Darden sparked an interest in accounting for how you write and how you carry yourself through a course. Though it was difficult, the difficulty made me want to try harder and achieve an A in his class.

    Course highlights:

One highlight is that on the first day of the course the professor told us that "we are not that important." From this he didn't mean to offend us, he meant that when entering a relationship the individual, meaning yourself, is not more important than the collective goal. While entering a relationship with the professor as our teacher, we must put his class ahead of our personal desires so that the relationship succeeds. Another thing that I learned from his class is that you always have to put full effort into your work and take pride in it, because if you don't then you did not really try your hardest in the work.

    Hours per week:

    6-8 hours

    Advice for students:

My advice is to not stray away and push off assignments, he does not give busy work and will almost always give work that is necessary so there are few but they require full effort. Therefore, set schedules for when you will work on the assignments, do not fall behind because even one missed assignment can drop you a letter grade.

Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

Absolutely phenomenal professor! You will learn so much useful information about writing technique, proper grammar, and correct punctuation with Prof. Brand. One of Valencia's gems. Her course plan is organized and you always know where you stand in her class.

    Course highlights:

I learned about screenplays, proper punctuation, how to structure a essay, how to write MLA and APA research papers. It was a bit of a challenge but what class isn't.

    Hours per week:

    6-8 hours

    Advice for students:

It is a great course to take with her. She is very approachable. If you get anything lower than a C. Then you are at fault for that, and need to reconsider how many hours of dedicated studies is needed to do good.
