    This class was tough.

    Course Overview:

Challenging but still a great class!

    Course highlights:

Basu is a really great professor. Probably one of the best professors at the Smith School, to be honest. The TAs they hire for accounting are really great because they're only a few years older than us, but they are so knowledgeable and so willing to help.

    Hours per week:

    6-8 hours

    Advice for students:

Go into office hours! The TAs will help clarify any information you're unsure about. This is especially important to do before exam time! Additionally, going to discussions isn't mandatory (even though there are quizzes) but it's important. I didn't do too well on the quizzes but I learned from my mistakes and only got one question wrong on the final!

Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

I took it during the winter and I loved it! Accounting is one of the hardest intro classes at the University and when you take it during the winter you can only focus on it and its easier to understand the material.

    Course highlights:

Group work. Since it was a winter class we were allowed time to interact with one another and help each other fully understand the material.

    Hours per week:

    3-5 hours

    Advice for students:

Definitly do the homeworks as soon as they are assigned. Also be willing to ask questions to further help you understand.

Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

This is my first semester here at UMD but so far I am in love. I'm in the Honors College and I really like my living and learning program. The school is enormous, yes, but the campus is beautiful and you get to know it fairly quickly.

    Course highlights:

There are tons of courses to choose from and there's something for everyone here, from athletics to academics to clubs and organizations. The proximity to Washington DC as a student interested in government work UMD is perfect.

    Hours per week:

    6-8 hours

    Advice for students:

I have found all faculty and staff extremely friendly and student centered.I liked the environment of the campus. It isn't in a big city but it is close to Baltimore and Annapolis. I liked how environmentally green the campus was.
