    Pretty easy, overall.

    Course Overview:

I highly recommend taking this class with Ervin hes so enthusaiatic about teaching and provides great outside knowledge into the real world.

    Course highlights:

you get the broad overview of what youll be learning about in the rest of the sociology classes at NIU. I took most of the upper level courses before taking the introduction course and he laughed that i got so far into my minor without the department realizing I hadnt taken it

Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

I recommend this class as long as you are willing to go to class and put in the time and work. The teacher's notes were in depth and really aided my understanding of concepts in the class. It gave me a better understanding of issues going on in the world and controversial topics as well. I also enjoyed some of the papers we had to write, such as breaking norms and the differences between toys and clothes offered for boys and girls.

    Course highlights:

I learned that there are double standards for men and women as well as a wage gap between the two genders. I also learned about the criminal justice systems and why criminals are driven to act the way that they do, which really opened my understanding of some of the issues the world and this country faces, especially with the criminal justice system.

    Hours per week:

    3-5 hours

    Advice for students:

Go to class and make sure you write the notes down on a notebook, not on your laptop. Going to class and taking notes every day helped me receive an A in the class, despite that it was a bit of hard work. The class is overall enjoyable and is what you make of it and what you take out of it. Definitely interesting. Never a boring class.
