    | Probably wouldn’t recommend.

Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

I personally never took the class at NIU, however I heard that the class size mixed with the content makes the class difficult and it is used as a "weed out" course. Instead NIU and many of the students there recommend taking the class at Kishwaukee college which transfers over

    Course highlights:

At Kishwaukee I learned how to name organic molecules, what reactions can be used to make what type of compound and was able to practice those reaction in a lab

    Hours per week:

    6-8 hours

    Advice for students:

Make a flash card for each reaction and study them as you learn them, do NOT try and memorize them all right before the exam

    | Would recommend.

    This class was tough.

    Course Overview:

Any chemistry class with Hagen is definitely a good one. He is very thorough and works out problems on the board. Take his upper level organic synthesis too!

    Course highlights:

We learned all about organic chemistry and got into reactions and mechanisms.

    Hours per week:

    3-5 hours

    Advice for students:

READ THE BOOK. And do practice problems
