    This class was tough.

    Course Overview:

Considering the fact that Core 110 is required for all freshman at Valparaiso, I have no choice but to recommend it. But Professor White is the ideal teacher if you plan on succeeding in Core 110.

    Course highlights:

Through taking this course I have come to conclusion that there are several ways to create and influence an identity. The books for this class are very detailed, but Professor White helped us through it to establish and create essays which proved points effectively.

    Hours per week:

    9-11 hours

    Advice for students:

This course is going to require many hours outside of class. The best advice I can give about this course though, is when you professor says to read a book or chapter, READ THE BOOK OR CHAPTER. You never know when they will feel like it is time for a reading quiz!

Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

It may seem like a lot of work, but the professor challenges her students. Her course outline is based around the students and their learning capabilities. She makes sure that everyone knows why we're doing what we're doing.

    Course highlights:

The class has helped me analyze texts and see deeper meanings and realize that there's a side to every writing. One does not have to agree with the author and I have become a better writer because of this course.

    Hours per week:

    6-8 hours

    Advice for students:

This class may seem pointless but it will help you and it does have a purpose. Don't fall behind on your work and don't be afraid to speak your mind during class discussions. The more you ask, the more perspectives you can get which will help you when writing your paper on that topic.
