    This class was tough.

    Course Overview:

    It prepares a nurse for the medical surgical skills needed at a hospital or critical care center.

    Course highlights:

    Learned how to balance a patient's electrolytes and return their bodies back to baseline. Gained wound care skills, alaris pump IV hangs, safety and QSEN, and more.

    Hours per week:

    12+ hours

    Advice for students:

    Time management is key, learn lab values, know your medications, Med Surg Success, "you can do anything" grab every opportunity to perform a skill when it is offered. If you are lacking in med pass, IV therapy, or patients, speak up and ask staff that you would like more experience.
