    This class was tough.

    Course Overview:

I would recommend this class, especially for Biology or Zoology majors, because it focuses on the living things around us and how they affect us. This class also provides some history on early vaccines and focuses on some important Microbiologist.

    Course highlights:

From this course, I learned a lot about the human body and how it works with different microorganisms. Certain microorganisms affect different parts of the body in good and bad ways, which was I thought was very interesting. I also learned about different diseases and where they originate from. I wouldn't say this class is fun but it was definitely interesting and helpful.

    Hours per week:

    6-8 hours

    Advice for students:

To be successful in this course, you need to attend every single class. This course requires focus and a lot of studying. There was a lot of material I had to remember so that required me to study every single day. In the end, the hard work paid off.

Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

This is a great intro class. It is a broad survey of microorganisms and their anatomy and physiology.

    Course highlights:

I got really good at gram staining and learned the basics of microbiology.

    Hours per week:

    3-5 hours

    Advice for students:

Make sure you attend all the classes and labs. Read the book and study. The info isn't hard to learn, but there is a lot of it. Background knowledge in biology and chemistry will be very helpful.

Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

For me, this course was fun. I enjoyed working in the lab and learning about different bacteria and viruses. The instructor was a good teacher and the questions from the tests came straight from our notes.

    Course highlights:

I learned that not all bacteria can grow under the same conditions and some need different nutrients for essential growth.

    Hours per week:

    3-5 hours

    Advice for students:

my advice is to study your notes and to ask the teacher a question if you don't quite understand something.
