Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

This was a fun class that got you involved every day. The class starts off easy by covering things that are covered in most high school level courses, then advances farther to challenge you by the end of the semester.

    Course highlights:

This introduction class for astronomy is one of the best general education classes I have taken at Western to date. Dr. Araya truly knows what he is talking about and is willing to go the extra mile to make sure that you succeed as long as you are willing to reach out to him for help. You cover everything from light spectra to the characteristics of all the planets in our solar system.

    Hours per week:

    0-2 hours

    Advice for students:

You get what you put into it. If you are lazy, then you wont do well and you won't walk away from this class with anything. but if you put forth the effort, you will get an A and you will walk away with a general knowledge of astronomy.

Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

I would definitely recommend this class to students who have or haven't had previous experience in astronomy. There is really no minimum understanding of astronomy required and, its an enjoyable educational adventure.

    Course highlights:

I learned about the size of our universe and the history behind it. This is a great intro to astronomy course and gets students actively thinking, and raising questions.

    Hours per week:

    3-5 hours

    Advice for students:

Go to class everyday, because there is always a new topic being discussed and new ideas being uncovered. Skipping even a few days makes this class seem complicated.
