This class was tough.
Dr. Talbot teaches you how to read closely, carefully, which many undergraduate courses don't give you the luxury to do because they're concerned with covering a lot of material and readings.
I learned how to read structurally - to break a difficult text down into its parts and label succinctly what each part is doing. It's like working backwards from writing an essay: instead of starting with the outline and ending with the essay, we started with the text and reverse-engineered it to the outline.
