Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

Dr. Sherwin makes chemistry a lot easier than it appears to be. He also offers extra help after class.

    Course highlights:

I learned how to really understand chemistry. My outlook on life also changed; I'm able to see reality in a more scientific perspective.

    Hours per week:

    3-5 hours

    Advice for students:

If you never understood chemistry, don't worry, you will after taking this course. And don't skip class, you'll miss out on important information.

Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

It's the class where I really started to understand Chemistry. I took a Chem class in high school and I had no idea what was going on but after this course I have decided to major in Chemistry. If you need to take General Chemistry I would recommend taking Basic, it prepares you really well. I would also recommend taking it with Professor Todorovic, she explains the topics exceptionally and doesn't make you memorize anything you don't have to.

    Course highlights:

Its basic Chem so it covers a bunch of topics briefly. You will learn about solutions, properties of matter, how to read the periodic table, stoichiometry, and the gas laws and how to work with them. The labs were fun.

    Hours per week:

    3-5 hours

    Advice for students:

Go to class everyday. Todorovic gives you notes but she adds onto them during lecture.

Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

I would recommend this course because is very interesting and fun. Anybody can learn a lot from this course and can be useful depending on the major they are going for. I would also recommend it because students can learn a lot from the labs and they can wake up a passion for Chemistry.

    Course highlights:

I learned to apply chemistry in some of my daily actions. I learned to apply my math skills to solve chemistry problems related to elements. I also learned to take precautions when doing the chemistry labs.

    Hours per week:

    6-8 hours

    Advice for students:

My advice to any student who wants to take this course is that they should put a lot of effort during the course. Students should study a lot, read, and remember definitions of the course. One tip that I give to anyone who wants to take this course is that they should not only read, they should also do practice problems as many times as they need it to understand what they have to do (mostly math related problems).
