    This class was tough.

    Course Overview:

This class/project took place over the expanse of the academic year which tied with the World Tour study abroad trip I took in the spring. The course involved communicating heavily with professors to develop a final project/thesis if you will.

    Course highlights:

In the fall we took a preparation class that dealt with seeking out a project in our hometown in which we thought we could develop and design an idea for to help benefit the community. We had to propose ideas on what we envisioned the place becoming. During our study abroad trip around the world we were to pick up design precedents and principles from each city we traveled to in Europe, Asia and Africa. During this trip we were asked to start initial designs and concepts to help better our end design. With three weeks left of the academic year after returning from our trip we were challenged with putting our designs and concepts into presentation form, which included master plans, 3D perspectives and models to demonstrate to other professors and students what we had focused on for the past year and what our ideas translated to for the final product.

    Hours per week:

    12+ hours

    Advice for students:

Always be willing and able to learn more. Open your ears for what professors have to say and open your eyes for what the world has to offer you in design. Make sure you do not procrastinate on conceptualizing your project, so that you have a confidently strong design for the final end product.
