Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

Dr. Poole is one of the only professors that uses traditional learning styles. He keeps the class engaged by making subtle jokes throughout lecture. Dr. Poole is also always open to helping students learn the complex concepts that organic chemistry offers.

    Course highlights:

Throughout the course, I gained essential baseline skills for future chemists. These skills include but are not limited to identifying resonance, electron flow, and reaction mechanisms.

    Hours per week:

    6-8 hours

    Advice for students:

Some advice for this course would be to completely understand general chemistry before taking the class. Getting behind on any one topic is detrimental. The course builds on itself so it is quite difficult to catch up if one gets far behind.

    This class was tough.

    Course Overview:

In comparison to other professors for this course, Dr. Jeske helped make the material not only easy to understand, but also enjoyable. He is a helpful and supportive professor and I would suggest going to him with any questions you have during his office hours as I found it to be very beneficial.

    Course highlights:

I enjoyed the group-learning setup of the course as it provided more open discussion and ways of learning the material compared to the traditional lecture.

    Hours per week:

    12+ hours

    Advice for students:

Study and go over the material repeatedly until you know it. Read over the notes and text and do the practice questions in the book making sure to ask about any problems you don't understand. Do not fall behind in the course as it will only make things more difficult trying to keep up and especially do not procrastinate and wait to go over and study the material just before the tests.
