Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

The course teaches more about the machines used in generating, transmitting and distributing electrical power, namely motors, generators and transformers. It basically introduces each of these machines and their basic theory of operation.

    Course highlights:

I got to see a DC generator and motor working. I also got to apply the knowledge of Electromagnetism to this course as the machines operate on the basic principles of electromagnetism. The course also included many small assignments that ensured we understood the theory. These assignments also helped us tackle the challenging group project.

    Hours per week:

    6-8 hours

    Advice for students:

Master your electromagnetism theory, also make sure you remember your circuit and network theory, particularly when it come to phasor algebra. The course isn't that math-heavy but you'll get to use phasors and imaginary numbers.
