Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

Many hear the name Agricultural Engineering and quickly picture a farmer with cows to take care of and plants to grow. However, the course is more technical. It is a combination of civil and mechanical engineering in the agricultural world. That said, the course is highly focused on improving agriculture by making the sector more mechanized with better structures to facilitate all its processes. The discipline is wide and gives one the opportunity to venture into either water and environment, processing, machinery or structures. I always wanted to be a mechanical engineer and being an Agricultural engineering student makes me feel like one.

    Course highlights:

The best times of this course are the practicals. I learned how to design and irrigation system, tractor systems, engines, fluid mechanics and the construction of greenhouses. The peak of the fun is in the final year where i am undertaking a project to develop a tractor implement that does not use the tractor PTO to operate in the farm. It is fun to calculate all forces and design a machine that will work using a different mechanism.

    Hours per week:

    12+ hours

    Advice for students:

Do not look back, this is the course to go into. It is the future and will never run out of opportunities.
