    This class was tough.

    Course Overview:

    In order to understand industrial process like those involved in manufacturing and processing, basic engineering principles are necessary. Thi course not only brings to light scientific principles involved in these processes but also machinery-related knowledge such as production line management and scheduling, operation procedures and many more. These equips you with conventional knowledge necessary to understand any industrial operation.

    Course highlights:

    From this course,I learned the general operation procedures of production plants, process control measurements, thermodynamics, fluid mechanics, industrial chemical properties, mass balances, reactor engineering, particle technology, chemical engineering design, engineering drawings, process measurement and control, chemical engineering principles, organic and inorganic chemistry, colloids and colloidal suspensions, soaps and detergents and their manufacture, energy and the environment, polymers, pharmaceutical chemistry and project design and industrial planning.

    Hours per week:

    12+ hours

    Advice for students:

    Frequent studying and research. Pre-lecture studying. Group reading and revision. Concentration and participation during lectures. Assignment completion with originality. Creation of a study plan General optimism

    Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

    Kenya is a developing country. There is a need for more students to enroll in the chemical engineering field. I am a girl and I believe more girls should consider doing the course and not fear it. Most brand tough courses as men's courses but in my view girls can do better too. They have to believe in themselves and do Chemical Engineering.

    Course highlights:

    Chemical engineering is the application and integration of scientific and engineering knowledge in material conversion from one from to another. A chemical engineer designs, constructs, operates, and maintains processes and plants that converts one chemical form to another that is more useful to humanity and less harmful to our environment. Chemical engineers can work from most industries from pharmaceuticals, petroleum and energy, food industries and many more. I gained knowledge how representing processes what to consider when one wants to establish an industry that relates to the field.

    9-11 hours

    Advice for students:

    To succeed in every course you must be passionate about it. No matter the kind of sacrifice you have to make in the end your efforts will bear fruits.
