Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

Economics and finance is a course that not only equips students with vast knowledge to apply in the job market after course completion, but also trains them to make the best or optimal -as economics call it- decision in every field of life. It encourages students to invest their time, efforts and finances on relevant and valuable projects in life. I have been able to secure various managerial positions in some companies in which my competitors were technocrats in those fields. I am planning to combine the course with another one in masters level, where I have plenty of options unlike many other courses that could have restricted me to limited ones. I think this should be a compulsory and major course for any student who wants to be a manager in future.

    Course highlights:

The course provides learners knowledge on various real-time events, situations and matters that occur in the local and international markets and government involvement. It provides analysis of the market right from the environment and operations within the business setting, then to the industry setting, and finally to the economy and a whole. There analysis requires studying of relevant subjects that are crucial in decision making and evaluation of individual events, situations and contemporary issues.

    Hours per week:

    6-8 hours

    Advice for students:

The course requires vast knowledge in mathematics especially in statics, algebra, differentiation and integration, and graphs. The course, in my opinion, is meant for critical and creative thinkers. As much as students spend enough time studying course material, the cats and final papers tests student's ability to apply that knowledge to practice on demos or real-time events.

    Pretty easy, overall.

    Course Overview:

This is a hands-on course that widens a learner's thinking from just being a job seeker to being a job generator. The course instills you with discipline and prepares you for a future where employment may be very uncertain. The course is very interactive and hence missing a class is very hard. Some of the modules learnt in this class such as money and banking can be put to practise instantaneously yielding positive results.

    Course highlights:

This course enabled me to learnt more about investments especially in the money and capital markets. This knowledge transformed me from being a bank depositor to an investment-minded individual. The lecturer was always readily available to give any advice concerning investments markets. This course also taught me how to be a financial consultant since I now know several methods of raising funds without. Learning about the liquidity and monetary functions of the Central Bank helped me appreciate it.

    Hours per week:

    3-5 hours

    Advice for students:

At the beginning the course seems hard because you are learning it for the first time. but with time and an unfazed concentration, the modules become easy to understand. An individual must ensure that the first lesson is well understood as the rest are a build-up on the first topic. The students must also ensure that all classes are attended and all assignments well undertaken. It is also advisable to engage in a group study where students can assist each other with revisions and share notes obtained from personal studies.
