    Course Overview:

    I would highly recommend due to the experience it gives to any student taking a biology related degree. It impacts the learner with a lot of useful knowledge as it deeply focuses on genetics and any other closely related fields. The practicals involved really helped to apply the theoretical part of the course and other practical situations in the fields of genetics.

    Attending of lecturers is an important step and putting seriousness into practicals and any other class work. Taking part in research is also an important tool.

    Course Overview:

    genetics have help me to understand the scope of inheritance of both beneficial and non beneficial characteristics between plants and animals which are important to studying them. genetics gives a wider view of classification without making errors and mistakes. in reproduction, genetics help students understand both phenotypical and genotypical form of the organism.

    Course highlights:

    while doing this course i learnt the following how to relate the structure and function of the DNA molecule to its functional role in encoding genetic material, how to apply the principles of inheritance as formulated by Mendel. how to apply the principles of extensions to Mendelian inheritance, including multiple allelism, lethal alleles, gene interactions, and sex-linked transmission. i learnt how to describe normal chromosome number, structure, and behavior in human cells, and understand the cause and effect of alterations in chromosome number and/or structure. and lastly i understood how to identify and classify mutations in DNA.

    Advice for students:

    the environment where we live is full of diversity and differences which cannot be well understood without the knowledge of genetics. the world is working in producing new breeds of organism with beneficial characteristics to the world, with these knowledge, i bet the student considering this course is already part of the people making world a better place.
