Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

this is an excellent course for anyone who would love to know more about the human genome. it is also essential for anybody who is considering a career in genetic engineering. however, it is important to realise that it is one of the heaviest courses and it requires a lot of commitment because most of the topics are handled for the first time and if one is not ready and fully present they might not build a good foundation. for their future endeavours

    Course highlights:

my highlights of the course were when I finally learned how to draw the DNA strand not just the helix but the nucleotide sequence. realising that I can actually modify human DNA in order to introduce new characteristics or remove old ones understanding why there are no clones - this is because of ethical issues. understanding that by manipulating the DNA or RNA, on a pathogen, one can cure the disease caused by the pathogen or even make the pathogen not harmful

    Hours per week:

    6-8 hours

    Advice for students:

be ready for an adventure in the science world. enjoy the course make it fun this will motivate you to read more. learn to question everything it makes it easier to learn, read ahead it helps prepare for the next class, do personal research it makes it easier to understand during class. when preparing for cats and exams consider the questions the lecturer asked in class they are the most likely questions in the paper.

    Course highlights:

i learnt more about the DNA and RNA. the base pairs of the DNA and RNA and their differences with their structures.

    Hours per week:

    3-5 hours

    Advice for students:

its a course focused on giving very important insights towards understanding organisms and how they are organised in their Nucleic Acids.
