    This class was tough.

    Course Overview:

Organic Chemistry is a very difficult course no matter where you take it or who your professor is. However, Catherine Reck made organic chemistry come to life. She was always available to help and would consistently find new ways of explaining new concepts.

    Course highlights:

In this course I learned how to study. You can't rely on homework sheets and flash cards. The more you practice a concept the more likely it is that you will remember it. It also taught me that in an organic chemistry class, we're all in this together. Asking the students and AIs around you for help is extremely beneficial .

    Hours per week:

    12+ hours

    Advice for students:

Form study groups! You should always attend lecture for any course, but lecture is extremely important with this class. If you miss a day or two of lecture, you will most likely be behind for weeks.

Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

This professor is honest, helpful and genuinely wants his students to succeed, he gives daily homework that is not graded but really does help with studying, which is a must in Organic Chemistry. The quizzes in discussion are directly off of the worksheets from the previous discussions and honestly this summer course has gone a lot better than the spring course I took.

    Course highlights:

I am still taking this course, but he really makes hybridization make sense, which was a difficult task for me the first time around and after that everything builds upon it.

    Hours per week:

    6-8 hours

    Advice for students:

Study, seriously study. Do not put off the work, you will give yourself too much to do at once and become overwhelmed. Ask for help if you are struggling.
