    | Would highly recommend.

    Pretty easy, overall.

    Course Overview:

This is a great intro course to the field of biology. Professor Tansey is a joy to learn from- he's worked in many fields and is able to provide insight to a number of career paths. He's also funny and makes lectures much less boring.

    Course highlights:

For and introductory level course I actually feel like I'll take knowledge away from this course. We covered a lot of material, however taking this class with Tansey really instills an interest in the subject matter and encourages people to pursue their interests. Another highlight of the course would be the countless opportunities Tansey informs his students of. Whether is "grandfatherly advise" or internship or research positions, he definitely cares about his students making the best of their time at IU.

    Advice for students:

If you need bio, or just want to see what bio is about and what career fields open up, take it with Tansey. He's been teaching biology in Jordan Hall for years and may have taught your parents too. He has the experience and genuinely likes interacting with young people. Take his class! And have fun with it.
