    Pretty easy, overall.

    Course Overview:

Overall it was an easy course. There was a lot of observing different ways people communicate other than with speech, such as use of eye contact and body language. Watched many clips from tv shows and movies and had to observe what they were trying to express non-verbally. We also had to transcribe the dialogue from a clip of a movie and write any body expression. Knocked a star down because the professor wasn't clear with stating that a class assignment due the following week was considered a quiz.

    Course highlights:

Learned more about different ways people communicate other than with speech and learned about the customs of other cultures and the way they consider polite vs impolite communication with different expressions and body language.

    Hours per week:

    0-2 hours

    Advice for students:

Make sure to start your projects early and to complete the readings ahead of time. It really helps with not having to cram all of it the night before. There's usually a discussion during the beginning of the next class, so try to participate at least once or twice during class, since you get points for participation. Also try starting the final ethonography project ahead of time because it can be very time consuming to transcribe the conversations.
