Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

It was so much fun, and I learned a lot! Just pay attention to notes in class and follow all her examples. I looked at OWLs a lot as well and made an A.

    Course highlights:

I learned what you learn in basic general chemistry classes at the start. Lots of measurements, balancing chemical equations, everything to prepare you for gen-chem 1, and O-Chem.

    Hours per week:

    6-8 hours

    Advice for students:

Pay attention in class, get all the points you can from the start whether it's clickers, OWLs, test grades, etc. If you work hard enough and do your best, you should be fine!

    This class was tough.

    Course Overview:

Although I liked chemistry, Dr. McCartney's course was very difficult. She would teach students as they are in middle school but the test were totally different materials from the stuff she taught.

    Course highlights:

Watching Dr. McCartney demanstrating material was the best part of this course. It was fun to watch how different substance react with each other.

    Hours per week:

    12+ hours

    Advice for students:

This course requires a lot of studies outside of the class. Her tests are really different from the material she teaches so reading test book and fully understanding materials are very important.

Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

Professor Collins is a teacher that expects the very best out of his students but cares about your success and experience. He is extremely approachable and will answer any question you have for him. He doesn't give you anything on his tests that you wouldn't already know how to do and his "pop-quizzes" are fairly simple. So long as you study, do the homework, and go to a review session every now and then, you should be able to walk away with a good grade.

    Course highlights:

For Halloween, he came dressed as an army man, with a green morph suit and everything. He also does a couple in-class chemical demonstrations at the end of the year that are worth video taping. His humor also just make the class a joy to take.

    Hours per week:

    6-8 hours

    Advice for students:

I would highly recommend that you take this professor only if you plan on taking a lot more chemistry in the future. He makes sure you know the basics like the back of your hand which will serve you well in the future.
