Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

This class actually helped me understand the American economy better than anything taught in high school. It's not difficult to get a good grade in as long as you study, and Ridgely is a pretty funny guy who genuinely cares about whether or not his students do well in his course.

    Course highlights:

This course covered the basics of macroeconomics and the economy of the United States. We went more in depth into supply and demand than in high school. However, it focuses more on the modern economy than the history of capitalism (The Wealth of Nations by Adam Smith, laissez-faire, etc.) and current problems with debt and the workforce/unemployment.

    Hours per week:

    3-5 hours

    Advice for students:

If you take this class with Ridgely, make sure to take good notes, meaning always show up for class. He doesn't post PowerPoints online, so the important stuff is always written on the whiteboard. He's very good about answering questions thoroughly, so definitely ask if something confuses you (during or after class). My best study advice would be to use the textbook and notes and make an outline of everything, and keep your book, notes, and outline with you when you go to take an exam because he sometimes will make exams open note. Also, in case the exam isn't open note, KNOW THE FORMULAS HE POINTS OUT IN CLASS.
