    | Would not recommend.

    This class was tough.

    Course Overview:

I just completed the second exam and this course is extremely difficult. I have already taken general chemistry I and II for science majors and organic chemistry. I'm retaking Chem I for a higher grade. The expectations for this course are far above what I experienced in my Chem I course. My tutor even said that this material is encompassing of Chem II. I will hope to get a good grade, but I highly recommend to those who haven't taken chemistry to absolutely avoid this self paced course.

    Course highlights:

I was attracted to the self paced method of study as I need to complete the course within 2 months.

    Hours per week:

    9-11 hours

    Advice for students:

Know that this class is NOT introductory. You must have strong math skills and grasp science easily. There are not many study guides or material to help you prepare for exams other than the text. Make sure you access Course Hero as the tutors and study material are very helpful.

    | Probably wouldn’t recommend.

    This class was tough.

    Course Overview:

Straighterline seemed more like a con then a legitimate online course. The class has advanced college level concepts, but without the benefit of a teacher. Definitely as hard as the chemistry class I took in college.

    Course highlights:

I did learn about hybridized orbitals.

    Hours per week:

    12+ hours

    Advice for students:

I wouldn't advise taking it unless you've already had a college level chemistry class and you are willing to do the work to finish it in a month.
