    Pretty easy, overall.

    Course Overview:

This course had really broaden my horizons. I see now even more so than before how society plays a great deal on how different people learn, interact, and work. I couldn't really see how culture came into play at first but, then I was able to recognize that the news and media are one of the biggest factors in how society interacts and is changed. The sociological pressures and systems are extensive and there is much to learn today about how we can change things and make it better for generations to come. I see in the course how institutions and ideologies have shaped history and I am very engaged it all to find out more.

    Course highlights:

The highlight of this course is how everything that seemed to be happening on the news like; Politics, World News, and Pop Culture all became a topic we could talk about and expound upon more in depth while in class. We then were able to apply real life world issues to how it interconnected with society and the changes that were occurring right then in our own minds. We were now putting, "Sociology" into action as it all was shaping and changing our views. Views immigration reforms were acceptable and now the changes happening in immigration are not changes we are able to agree at all with. I learned all the more that Sociology was a very important subject to be a part of and it is something we can use everyday in different ways and arenas in life.

    Hours per week:

    9-11 hours

    Advice for students:

Make sure you take lots of notes. Be involved in the class participation. Don't skimp read everything. And rewrite things over so that it sticks in your mind. Our professor said it best,"All you have to do is when asked a question about Sociology, ask your self, 'How does this institution or system affect me as an individual in society.' "
