This class was tough.
Course Overview:
My original major was Political Science, but I fell in love with math because of Professor Quevedo and how he taught it. I changed my major to Business Economics. Pre-Algebra was the stepping to stone to the foundation of the math (Algebra) I knew I needed to keep going up the various math levels. Algebra is the "ultimate" foundation one needs to progress, in my opinion, to subsequent math levels. Of course, it takes hard work from note-taking, studying, homework, asking questions, lab hours, etc. for the student to succeed, but SMC gives you the bone (resources); you just have to put the meat on it.
Course highlights:
Linear Equations and Factor Polynomials
Hours per week:
12+ hours
Advice for students:
Listen, take notes, ask questions, and do homework immediately.
This class was tough.
Course Overview:
This course is a combination of word as well as basic math problems, if you struggle with word problems I would suggest going to tutoring sessions with the teacher
Course highlights:
The highlights of this class was my experience with the teacher, he thoroughly explained each section of the course and was tremendously positive and helpful if you had an issue
Hours per week:
12+ hours
Advice for students:
If possible when taking a math course and if you struggle with math make sure that math is the only course you are taking. I found this to be extremely helpful because I had the opportunity to just focus on one class
Not too easy. Not too difficult.
