Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

This class has taught me far more than I had expected regarding the world of art in both ancient as well as modern society, consequently giving me a new appreciation, for a whole realm of art, in which I never had before.

    Course highlights:

Ali Ahmadpour's enthusiastic teaching approach is intriguing and without a doubt thought-provoking, stimulating the mind of every student and sparking a new interest in individual aspects of ancient and modern art.

    Hours per week:

    3-5 hours

    Advice for students:

Make it a priority to take thorough and detailed notes, paying attention to every word of the professor, as Ahmadpour presents much meaningful insight on certain works and topics within the lesson that, at times, cannot be found in the textbook.

Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

This course had a broad survey of information with interesting themes and topics. The professor provided meaningful writing assignments and activities as well as assessments that allowed me to see my progress and understanding of the material.

    Course highlights:

One of the highlights of the course was seeing themes in modern day art. I learned about the theme gender identity and the different ways artists used this theme throughout history. For example, the Guerrilla Girls tackled both gender identity and feminism in modern art.

    Hours per week:

    6-8 hours

    Advice for students:

I would tell students to make sure they stay on top of their assignments and not fall behind on the deadlines because the work can pile up. I would also suggest doing the reading because, while the quizzes were somewhat easy, there was detailed information that would be difficult to answer without having read the material. The good news is the quizzes do not hurt your overall grade, but there are two big tests that do.
