Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

For biology majors like myself, this course is necessary to be able to move on into the field of biology. Dr. Young is an amazing professor! This course prepares you for the basics of biology and Dr. Young definitely sets easy methods to understand.

    Course highlights:

The lecture notes were amazing! I was able to follow everything Dr. Young taught. I learned about subjects such as: Osmosis, diffusion, genetics, etc.

    Hours per week:

    3-5 hours

    Advice for students:

Study a little bit every day so it could stay fresh in your mind. Create flashcards to memorize certain terms. Do not cram the day before the exam!

Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

She will always let you know everything that is due, when, and how exactly it will be graded. More than willing to help with the class, and if you go to her office hours, she is very helpful. Genuinely takes an interest in her students, even with a 200+ lecture class. Doesn't cancel class, and be prepared to go - attendance is 12% of the grade.

    Course highlights:

Although this is a basic course, Dr. Young tries to make the best out of the Department-made powerpoints.

    Hours per week:

    3-5 hours

    Advice for students:

Go to class, and if you have trouble in Biology, get the book and go to office hours. You will know deadlines way in advance, so do not wait until the last minute.

Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

This course really gives an insight on the very nature of life, and is interesting without being too technical the whole time.

    Course highlights:

I leaned key concepts from the basis of life on a molecular level, all the way up to an organismal level. This is everything from the chemical bonding of DNA to ecosystems.

    Hours per week:

    3-5 hours

    Advice for students:

Be present in class and absorb the info, but the bulk of the learning happens during quality time spent with notes, textbooks, and biology YouTube breakdowns.
