    Pretty easy, overall.

    Course Overview:

    This lab covers tests on Fuels and Lube Oils and tests onI.C. Engines. Six Experiments have to be performed by the students in T.E.Lab. Four more experiments to be performed by the students in Foundry and Machines labs

    Course highlights:

    1. Determination of the Flash and Fire points of fuels / lubricating oils using Cleveland’s Apparatus (open cup). 2. Study the variation of viscosity of Lubricating oils/ Fuels with temperature using Saybolt Viscometer. 3. Determination of the Calorific value of gaseous fuel using Junker’s gas calorimeter. 4. Valve Timing Diagram on a single cylinder 4 stroke diesel engine model. 5. Port Timing Diagram on a single cylinder 2 stroke petrol engine model. 6. Performing Load test test on a single cylinder 4 stroke vertical Diesel Engine using electrical dynamometer..
