    | Would recommend.

Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

I would recommend this course, as the professor was very understanding and knowledgeable about his subject. However, he was also interesting to listen to, and made class fun to attend, even on days when I was tired or otherwise unmotivated.

    Course highlights:

I learned a lot from the in-class listening exercises, in which students would watch a speech and rate it by the four basic principles of communication (no spoilers of course!)

    Hours per week:

    3-5 hours

    Advice for students:

Read the book from the beginning of the semester onward! I did not, and thus had to cram at the end for the final exam. You are not 'assigned' any reading in the book, but as there is a final exam, it is a very good idea to do the reading anyway.

Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

The professor is a stand-up person, and is always happy to help the students if they're struggling with their speech or their outline beforehand. She takes the time to address questions and always keeps the class engaged.

    Course highlights:

I definitely learned to be more comfortable when speaking in front of others. Not only have I gained confidence from this course, but I've been able to use that and the other skills I learned such as better outline organization in other courses as well.

    Hours per week:

    6-8 hours

    Advice for students:

    Always practice your speech beforehand.

    This class was tough.

    Course Overview:

I would definitely recommend this course because it helps you with public speaking and it helps you express yourself in a way that you may not have been able to do before. My only hesitation is that it is a lot of work involved. So if you want to challenge yourself, then this would be the class for you.

    Course highlights:

I learned about some of my issues when I speak which will be great for any career field that I choose to go into. I also had to learn how to pick out the right pieces of information to support my argument and how to cite them.

    Hours per week:

    6-8 hours

    Advice for students:

You will need a lot of time to complete each task and memorize the speeches verbatim if you want to put forth your best effort. You also have to be open to feedback because the teachers and students will give you verbal and written feedback.
