Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

The material in K103 is very intriguing. Dr. Yost organizes the class very well by providing a chapter outline that follows right along with his lectures, and that match the PSA assignments in recitation. Overall, the course material is interesting and seems relevant to everyday life.

    Course highlights:

I gained organizational skills by filling out the chapter outlines, which include a complete vocabulary list that matches the PSA's for recitation. The lecture material lines up with lab material, providing a physical, hands-on learning experience of the material from lecture. I learned about the origin of life and cells on Earth, and the intricacy of life as we know it.

    Hours per week:

    6-8 hours

    Advice for students:

To be successful in this course, it is recommended to be very organized and to attend lecture, lab and recitation sections. I highly recommend watching videos that correspond to the material, as it provides an auditory explanation that helps understand the material in a more simplistic approach. Actually finding the material interesting helps to be successful in the course: not finding it interesting makes the work feel very forced rather than a choice, so finding the material interesting makes one want to learn the material.

    This class was tough.

    Course Overview:

The class is honestly very difficult and for me possibly one of the hardest classes Ive ever taken. I personally did not like the way Yost taught but theirs ways around it. It just means doing more reading before class so that hes just reviewing.

    Course highlights:

I learned a lot about the anatomy of different animals and how they relate to us and how we all differ.

    Hours per week:

    9-11 hours

    Advice for students:

Study before class for what he'll be lecturing on. You wont get it all if you do not.
