Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

Professor Zhao isn't the greatest. Had I not had previous background in chemistry from taking AP in highschool, I would not have done nearly as well as I did in this class. His lectures are just confusing and boring. He also didn't write the exams when I was in his class, so he had no idea what was on them and his lectures didn't really line up with the exams. If you are taking this course I recommend taking it with Zhu even though you have weekly quizzes. His weekly quizzes give you a precursor to what the exam will be like as he is the one that writes the exams.

    Course highlights:

I learned everything through studying on my own time. The study guides helped some, but I would recommend googling videos for concepts you don't understand. Without prior knowledge of chemistry this class is difficult.

    Hours per week:

    6-8 hours

    Advice for students:

Google videos online for concepts you don't understand. Use recitation to ask any and all questions you may have. My recitation leader saved me. If you don't understand something, go to the CRC for help BEFORE the day of the exam. Don't count on Hong for help because he will either look at you like you are stupid then struggle to explain what you are asking about, or he won't believe you when you tell him your lab TA is horrible.

    This class was tough.

    Course Overview:

This class is incredibly fast paced, but my TA, Christine Skaggs, made it far more than enjoyable and helped me learn every concept and calculation with each lab.

    Course highlights:

I learned how to properly write a lab report for future classes and possibly my career as well as how to take meaningful observations.

    Hours per week:

    9-11 hours

    Advice for students:

Do your prelabs as soon as possible and make them incredibly organized, this helps you move through the lab quicker and can get you more points.

    | No strong feelings either way.

Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

    105 wasn't bad but 106 was a nightmare

    Course highlights:

If you do the online homework it'll be easier and do it ahead of time plus highlighting the book is really helpful

    Hours per week:

    6-8 hours

    Advice for students:

the book, a calculator, and a will to pass
