For majors which this course is required, its obviously not going to take itself.
This course is all about manipulating differential equations similarly to how we manipulated algebraic ones in the past. Brush up on your linear algebra and make sure you fully understand how to manipulate and solve matrices. An understanding of calculus is a must, you'll need it.

Try to preview topics and homework before lecture. Otherwise, it won't make sense in class since the prof. has to cover a wide range of information in a short period of time. As with all courses, utilize office hours. These are essential to excelling in the class.
