Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

It was a great course that allows you to develop a solid foundation to nursing through walking you through a thorough assessment of every body system.

    Course highlights:

The highlights were a great step by step guide to assessing humans.

    Hours per week:

    6-8 hours

    Advice for students:

For the tests, review the powerpoints thoroughly and know what she emphasizes in lecture. Also, review the powerpoints on the system you are learning in lecture before going into lab to practice the assessment of that body system.

Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

This course was extremely helpful in paving the way for nursing. We learned all of the basics in a very clear way that was easy to understand. We also learned different ways to apply this knowledge for more advanced situations. I believe that already knowing how to apply some skills to more advanced situations will be very helpful in succeeding in future classes.

    Course highlights:

In this course we were taught the basics of a health assessment. This is plainly put, just head to toe care. We learned what abnormalities to look for in every system of the body. The areas that we focused on include head, eyes, ears, nose, and throat, gastrointestinal, musculoskeletal, respiratory, integumentary, and cardiovascular systems. We also focused on proper bedside manner and patient interactions. To put all of these skills to good use at the end of the semester we practiced a full head to toe physical assessment on an actor. We were graded by the professor and the actor on whether or not we hit all of our skills and how appropriate our bedside manner was.

    Hours per week:

    3-5 hours

    Advice for students:

I would advice making plenty of flashcards. This course isn't difficult if you take the time to go over the material. This class mainly entails memorization, so if you are able to make and memorize flashcards you should succeed in getting an A in the class. Everything you need to know is in the book or the powerpoints given in class.
