    Pretty easy, overall.

    Course Overview:

The Human Services Internship II course was wonderful in that it showed me what I do not want to do in my career. I was able to take part at a great internship that allowed me to learn more about my career goals. The internship I did was great at teaching different skills within the not-for-profit world, but the tasks I did were not things I want to do in my career. I learned about myself, my goals, and more about what I like/do not like by taking part in this class.

    Course highlights:

It was great that there was not a ton of coursework to do each week. There was a semester-long project, but it was not too time consuming. The end result was a powerpoint presentation in front of the class that was easy. Additionally, two different representatives from two separate colleges came to talk to the class, which was great. It helped me to learn about my options as I continue on in my education.

    Hours per week:

    12+ hours

    Advice for students:

The only difficult part of the course was committing to the hours needed each week for the internship. Overall, the coursework was relatively easy and did not take very much time each week. However, since I did my internship over the summer, I had to do 20 hours a week at my internship. It was a big commitment that I had to take into consideration.

Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

I learned hands on experience in the human services field. I was able to observe and shadow. It enhanced my networking skills and helped me become professional.

    Course highlights:

I learned how to network, talk professionally, relationship building with clients, confidentiality and leadership skills.

    Hours per week:

    12+ hours

    Advice for students:

Create a detailed schedule for the week. Internship can make you fall back in your other classes so create a study schedule that you can work around.
