Pretty easy, overall.
The course had no official text, all of the reading was from various web links to free books on another site. A lot of the links were dead, causing people to not be able to complete the assigned readings. If you can get past the disorganization of the reading materials, the class was okay.
If you have already taken an intro to Informatics course (which should be required for this, I believe) you probably won't learn too much more than what you had learned in that course. The highlight of this course is that you learn quite a bit about data mining and get experience using a data mining tool and doing some data mining of your own.

Be prepared to do a discussion board post every week. This is a significant portion of the grade. Get it done early and often. Be ready to have to search the internet for required readings, if a link is dead. If you have Kathy as your instructor, she is very helpful. Don't be afraid to message her.
