Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

I'm studying to be a therapist, but the stuff I learned in this class (and the rest of my HS classes) have been REALLY beneficial in how to properly respond with people outside of an office setting. There's a lot more to it than just nodding your head and giving the occasional "uh-huh".

    Course highlights:

The dangers of burnout and taking care of the greatest tool a therapist has in their arsenal - themselves. Also the respective boundaries a client has with the practitioner, dangers of dual relationships, and the importance of being honest and open, not only with yourself, but with someone else about your feelings and your emotions towards others.

    Hours per week:

    6-8 hours

    Advice for students:

Pay. Attention. Once the information starts rolling in and you gain a whiff of it, you'll be wanting to learn and crave more so you can begin to utilize the information in your own world.

    Advice for students:

Come prepared to learn. Being in Human services requires one to learn a lot of information, so take good notes.
