Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

I would absolutely recommend this course because not only does it talk about women studies but it talks about the aspects of masculinity within feminism.

    Course highlights:

In this course I learned a lot of about bell hook's concept of feminism and feminism itself. Her concept describes that feminism is the the movement to end oppression and sexism.

    Hours per week:

    6-8 hours

    Advice for students:

Students who plan on taking this course I advise you to read the textbook and take good notes in class. It is always good to ask questions in class.

Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

I found the material really interesting to look at, but it was very fast-paced and the professor would never remind us what readings were due for the next day. However, she is very passionate about teaching Women's Studies and using connections from the real world to apply to the units we've covered in class. She might be intimidating at first, but it's to show that she doesn't mess around with slackers (which is what I love a lot about her teaching style).

    Course highlights:

We basically learn different types of feminisms, forms of oppression, and the structure of the social hierarchy. Some of the material can be a bit uncomfortable (especially for conservative-minded people), but other than that, she draws a lot of the information from the books she provides in the syllabus.

    Hours per week:

    3-5 hours

    Advice for students:

Do the assigned readings before class. CHECK THE SYLLABUS FOR DUE HOMEWORK ASSIGNMENTS AND READ AHEAD. Form study groups (you're going to need them since a group presentation is required sometime in the semester). Always ask questions, because some of the material can be hard to understand without knowing the right terminology.

    This class was tough.

    Course Overview:

This is a course that provides a new perspective that not many students are able to comprehend. This professor is strict but extremely knowledgeable. I came into this class with a very closed mind but I found that this topic has expanded my knowledge and provided me with a new perspective that I did not previously understand. Do not take this course if you aren't willing to have your opinions challenged and changed.

    Course highlights:

I learned that feminism is so much more than what is portrayed by the media. Feminism is very misunderstood by our nation and this course helps students understand the true influence and goals for feminists.

    Hours per week:

    6-8 hours

    Advice for students:

Make sure to read the material and pay attention. This is not a course to take lightly and the topics discussed are important not only to school but to daily life. Be open minded.
