This course provides a basic understanding of how health care organizations fit into the nations economy. It also provides an understanding of the accounting functions of the health care administrator. This course sets a solid foundation for those who want to understand the financial side of health care management that will can be built upon in future graduate courses.
Highlights include a group accounting assignment and presentation that allowed the group to analyze a health care organizations financial status and provide recommendations based upon the scenario provided. The group works as a team to analyze the day and create future financial projections in order to make a recommendation. The group discusses the data and analysis with the class as well as what led to their decision.
