    | Would highly recommend.

    This class was tough.

    Course Overview:

Lapolla is very good at explaining concepts, but you do have to read the book. The best part is how excited he is about the subject. He practically bounces around the front of the room while he tells you about evolution. This can mean he's a little distractible with questions sometimes, but it also means it's difficult to get bored! He loves connecting the content to the wildlife on campus, so keep your eyes on the trees around!

    Course highlights:

Of course the basic evolution part of the course was fun. I love learning about evolution, debunking misconceptions, and seeing how different everyday things came to be. The most fun, though, were the everyday revelations. Lapolla is very fond of talking about daily changes in the surrounding wildlife, and I never looked at the flies or ants in the park so carefully before. Learning about how wildlife came to be actually makes me appreciate it even more!

    Hours per week:

    3-5 hours

    Advice for students:

You have to read the book! You really can't skip that, because Lapolla explains things using the book examples. I'd recommend reading before class, rather than after, so you know a bit going in.
